Youngberry Margarita

Youngberries are a complex hybrid of raspberries, blackberries and dewberries. I saw youngberry juice at the grocery store today and thought it would make a nice margarita. The berry flavour is surprisingly delicate given its progenitors so I added some lime and Cointreau to add depth.

1 1/2 oz good quality tequila
2 oz youngberry juice
1/2 to 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 oz Cointreau

Eau Canada cocktail

Happy Canada Day! My challenge was to make a cocktail that did not need me to open any container that would require being added to our already overloaded fridge. I also had some very ripe strawberries to use up.

1 1/2 oz white rum
1 oz Hpnotiq liqueur
2 tablespoons finely strained fresh strawberry purée

Shake well over ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add crushed ice. Sip and enjoy!
