I can’t really claim any originality here, but I wanted to document this version, made with homemade tonic syrup as a tall drink, so here goes:
1 tbsp homemade tonic syrup (add 1 tbsp simple syrup if unsweetened) – I made my tonic syrup using this great recipe from Pinch and Swirl
Juice of half a lime
2 oz Ungava Gin
Stir ingredients together in a highball glass. Fill glass with ice and top with sparkling water or club soda.
I’ve been on vacation from creating new cocktails for a few weeks, but I am back with one of my favourite early summer tastes – strawberry and rhubarb!
2 oz white rum
1 oz crushed strawberries (cleaned and hulled)
1 oz homemade rhubarb syrup or rhubarb drink concentrate (SAFT RABARBER from IKEA)
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
3 or 4 drops Bittermen’s Elemakule Tiki bitters
Shake well with ice and fine strain into cocktail glass. Serve with ice.
